The success of this year’s Blue
Ribbon Badge Campaign will have
a direct impact on the activity we
undertake in 2008. That is why we
need your support!
The Foundation would like to sincerely thank
everyone who has taken a collection box and raised money for the cause. This year we hope even more people will get involved!
Thanks to the money raised in the last two
years we have expanded our Mouth Cancer
Awareness Activity to include:
The first free Mouth Cancer
Awareness DVD for the public
In 2008 the Foundation will produce
250,000 Mouth Cancer Awareness
DVD’s and, using its extensive
range of contacts, will distribute
the film through a variety of
magazines and newspapers.
The fi lm will also be freely
available to all on request and
will be hosted on the Mouth
Cancer Awareness website.
An extended media campaign generating over 360 press articles and reaching an audience
of more than 43 million readers.
An official launch at the House of Commons
including expert speakers that, in 2006, led to
press coverage in The Sun, The Daily Mail and
The Observer
This stand-alone website for Mouth Cancer
Awareness
A specialist ‘Radio Day’ focusing on mouth
cancer to be sent out to an extensive number of
regional radio stations
A baseline Mouth Cancer Awareness national
public survey
These activities would never have been possible
a few years ago and there is no doubt that their
introduction has been invaluable in terms of
raising awareness of this terrible condition.
A Mouth Cancer Awareness Week
poster in every doctor’s surgery
While this campaign is directed at all health
professionals the Foundation is aware that
the vast majority of its participants are,
understandably, dentists.
Next year the Foundation will expand
the reach of the campaign by involving
all doctors’ surgeries.
Blue Ribbon Badge Campaign
donations will be used to fund an
expansive campaign to provide every
doctor’s surgery in Britain with a free
Mouth Cancer Awareness Week poster– that’s 11,000 of them.
