Mouth Cancer
Awareness Week

mouth cancer awareness

This year’s Mouth Cancer Awareness Week will run from November 11 - 17 and we need your help in reaching the wider public.

Mouth cancer kills one person every five hours in the UK.

This year’s campaign is using the tagline ‘If in doubt, get checked out’ to raise awareness of the importance of early detection. Treated in its early stages mouth cancer is curable but left later it kills around one in two.

Members of the public must be educated on the main risk factors and symptoms of mouth cancer. For more information, click below:

Mouth Cancer Awareness Week is supported by Denplan, and backed by Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists, British Dental Association, The British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Cancer Research UK, Department of Health in all four UK countries, Kings College London, Medical Council on Alcohol, Mouth Cancer Foundation, QUIT, Pharmacy Health Link, Saving Faces, Scope and World Cancer Research Fund.
